TEACHER AND INSPIRER
Prof. Barbara Świątek-Żelazna received many awards and honours of The Minister of the Culture and National Haritage, The City of Kraków, Excellece in Teaching Prize, Gold Medal „Gloria Artis”.
In 1964 she received a prize Orfeo for the best performance on the International Festival Warsaw Autumn.
In 2017 she received a prize of The Lesser Poland Gouverment Ars Quaerendi for outstanding actions for the development and promotion of culture in the category: Teacher.
BOOK / A GROUND-BREAKING METHOD
Since its inception the music community has enthusiastically received the news of the Infinity project. Now Natalia and prof. Światek-Żelazna are intensively teaching a group of flutists all over the world, including principal flutists of many great orchestras as well as professors and students alike from universities and conservatoires.
They are additionally in touch with medical specialists to further explore how the physical mechanism of this technique can positively enhance flute playing.
Based on their experience, Natalia and prof. Światek-Żelazna are co-writing a methodology on how to learn this particular technique of circular breathing and preparing exercises and etudes to accompany learning the technique.
Thanks to the assistance of British flutist and writer Katy Ovens, this book will also be published in English.
